Airbrush Makeup Tips…

When it comes to applying airbrush makeup, the most important thing to remember is… less is more than enough.  You are not painting a car with layer upon layer followed by clear coat after clear coat.  You are applying makeup to your face in a precise, delicate manner.

Luminess Air
As you may know, airbrush cosmetics are silicone based and when properly applied they look like skin.  So sometimes with airbrushing a glowing complexion can be achieved with nothing more than a foundation airbrushed onto the face.  If your complexion is such, you might be able to simply use a basic airbrush foundation and be done with it.

How do I apply it???

Hold the airbrush wand a few inches from your face and sweep it from side to side slowly and evenly. One of the secrets to good airbrushing is… short, steady, even strokes with the airbrush.  This may sound simple and easy but you will find that like everything else worthwhile, it takes practice.

After the foundation is applied, let it dry for a few minutes and then check your results in the mirror.  If you like what you see and if your complexion looks great, you are done.  There’s no need to go any further.  However, if you still have that washed out look and need a little more color, then go on to the blush airbrush makeup.  Remember, less is more than enough.  You don’t want to come out looking fake and unnatural…

You don’t want to lay the blush down thick and heavy.  Using the same slow and even short stroke technique you used with the foundation, apply the blush to your cheeks much like you would with sponge or hand.  The silicone based makeup applied with an airbrush is so smooth it will make your skin glow and your complexion appear flawless.

With a little practice, airbrushing makeup will become second nature to you just like using the sponge, but the results will be greatly improved.
